MDA Update from Cindy

I got to present Marshall Fire Dept. with a plaque for the money they raised for MDA!

Special Post

Cindy regrets to tell us that due to the integrity of the trial process we will not be able to post actual updates regarding her health and treatments during the actual trial period. Cindy will keep notes and update us at the end of the process. Please continue to check out the site as we will continue to update you on Cindy's Life, her work with MDA and her family. We post what we can on the upcoming fundraiser for Cindy and notes about activities in her life. Maybe even Scott will want to post some hunting pics soon! As we all know what an avid hunter he is. Please keep Cindy and her family in your prayers.

Special Request**** If anyone out there is computer savvy and would be willing to post a couple of pics in the header of this blog that would be fantastic. I am not techno enough to figure it out yet. Please post a comment and I will contact you and send the pics that need to be posted.

A Prayer for Cindy

If it is okay with you, I would like to say a few words about Cindy first, before my prayer for her.

I have only had the opportunity to meet Cindy one time. A couple of months ago, my husband's sister, Carey, and brother-in-law, Marc, came to our church for the evening service. Carey was sharing of her music ministry, and Marc was sharing his testimony of living life as a quadriplegic after a severe car accident left him paralyzed almost 15 years ago. Cindy had accompanied Angel Sanders to hear Marc's testimony. I had seen Cindy around town, but did not know what the condition was that put her into her wheelchair. I had the chance to talk with her after church and learn more about her. We could all sense her excitement as Marc showed her things in his life that have helped him become more independent.....a new van designed for his wheelchair that he can drive himself, a hand "grabber" that enables him to reach objects up high. He gave one of the "grabbers" to Cindy, and we could all see that her arms had just grown by two feet...oh, the things she could reach! We could even see her mind churning as she sat inside that van, thinking that someday this may be a possibility for her. It was exciting. I was sure that if Carey and Marc had made the trip from their home in Indianapolis to share their life's story for only one person, that person must have been Cindy. When I was asked to write a send-off prayer for Cindy's blog, I've had to think carefully about my words. I've never really been at a loss for words in prayer, yet I didn't want to write these words carelessly. I know that many of you know Cindy on a much deeper level than I do, and could probably pray circles around me simply by knowing her specific needs more than myself. Yet, I was touched by meeting her. I'm excited to pray for her. And I know even in my inadequacy of knowing her well, that God knows her deeply and intimately, and that He will answer the prayers that I do not know enough to pray. So, here is my feeble attempt, and I hope that we can all keep her in prayer as she makes this journey.Father God, thank You for Cindy. She is Your child. You created her, knitted her together, and all of her days were written in Your book before one of them came to be. You have hemmed her in, before and behind. Nothing in Cindy's life is a mystery to you, God. You are all-knowing of her illness. You love her deeply. You are good and kind in all Your ways. You are about to do a new thing in Cindy's life! And for that, we are so thankful. We know that You can use doctors, research, and medicine to bring about wonderful change and healing in people. We also trust that You could do it without all of those things. But Lord, we pray for Cindy and her family as they start this journey together. We pray that you would protect them physically as they travel. Please give them endurance for the days ahead. Please sustain their spirits when they feel tired and weak. Remind them, God, that You are a faithful Father and that only You can carry them through such a task.Lord, take care of them. Allow Cindy's body to respond well to whatever treatment she receives. And most of all, keep her hopeful. Thank you for loving Cindy and having a wonderful plan for her life. Thank you that the plans You have for her are to prosper her and not to harm her, to give her a hope and a future. Please help all of her friends and family to stand on the truth of Your Word during the days ahead. In Jesus Name, Amen.
